So this is a little bit of a catch up... but we celebrated Haven's birthday at the begining of June!
We were going to have a butterfly themed party but Haven wanted to invite some of her guy friends both from Church and school so we decided to do a more neutral theme, Luau!
My parent's back yard and pool were the perfect place for a Luau Birthday!
Here is a picture of Haven and one of her BFFs, Reese, from school.
The day was sunny but super windy so most of the kids hung out in the hot tub.
It was fabulous that the dollar store had tons of decorations with Luau theme.
I was able to get each child a palm tree cup with straw as their party favor.
Here is one of Haven's oldest friends, Michelle, enjoying her cup!
They've known each other since they were 8 months old!
Papa Barry was wonderful enough to blow up a bunch of water balloons.
Cousin Nate was a pretty good shot and was getting most of the kids.
It didn't take long for all the younger children to figure out that they could gang up on him.
Soon was their main target!
We didn't get to blow out candles because it was so windy we couldn't even light them.
But I'm sure she will still get her wish!
The girls also went to the Seventh Day Adventist church's VBS.
It is where Haven went to preschool and we are hoping to get Hope into so they were familiar with the facility. It was a LOT of work to get Hope to stay and every day she said she didn't want to go... every day. Then on Friday when it was all over and we were leaving she asked, "do we go back tomorrow?" and I said, "no honey, its all over you don't have to go any more". To which she replied, "I don't want it to be over!" So I guess that means even though she fussed every day that she was really enjoying it once I left.
Its a great VBS and they always have "big" helpers, older children that kind of mentor and help the younger ones. Here is Haven with her big helper.
And here is Hope with her big helper!
It was a good time for them and learned all about trusting God.
Good stuff!
